Pro Image is an attractive opportunity for one to become a franchisee (“the party in a franchise relationship that pays for the right to use resources supplied by the franchisor.” (Kelly/McGowen 95)) Pro Image offers excellent support and seem willing to help you succeed in the sports apparel industry. They have also been ranked 205 out of 500 in the 36th Annual Franchise rankings. The franchise has also gained good press because they started to franchise their business after a year of opening and have since then been growing all over the nation. Pro Image is ranked number one for sports apparel franchising. The franchise price is $30,000 for the first store and $15,00 for each additional store.
There are eight other costs besides the franchising fee to start your Pro Image store. One cost is the merchandise inventory which ranges from $40,000 to $175,000. The next type of cost is the equipment which ranges from $500 to $5,000. Then there are the furniture and fixtures cost from $4,500 to $13,000, the building and leasehold improvements costing from $40,000 to $121,500, travel and other expenses incident to training from $1,700 to $3,000 and the insurance cost from $2,000 to $5,000. There are also miscellaneous opening costs ranging from $10,000 to$45,000 and the franchisee will need additional funds from $10,000 to $45,000. After all of these costs the total start up is about $135,700 to $406,500. After paying all of that money to start your store you have to pay the royalties.
The royalties are 4% of gross sales paid monthly and they have to be in a term of agreement for 10 years with the franchise. The franchisor does not say if they offer any financial help besides advice.
The franchisor offers support in four types of support. One is for marketing and sales. They will give you marketing strategies and may even have their sales executives train your sales associates. The next is leasing negotiation support. Pro Image has over 22 years of experience and numerous connections with different malls and can get you the best rent and locations in your area. The third way they assist you is that they also give you access to the corporate service team at any time for any questions or concerns about your store. The final way they help is with an immediate communications network. The communications network offers you top of the line product vendors and they give you the Pro Image phone book for your use.
Hey Kim,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Dan and I want to start off by saying your blog was great! I really liked the addition of the video. The Pro Image franchise sounds like a smart and cool investment for a franchisee. I personally like the idea of all the support they give you like in marketing and lease negotiation. Also the ease of access to the corporate team at any time to answer any questions or concerns is a great thing to have. Even in the video they seemed really helpful which is key. Also having good relationships with big name brands like Nike is always a huge plus. The start-up costs seem large but so did all the other franchises but Pro Image seems like it would be worth the money to invest because the payout will make it worth all the while. Again you did an amazing job at this blog! Keep up the good work!
Kim, I think that your blog was very informative, and really explained how to start Pro Image Franchises well. When beginning a business it seems as though that may be a little expensive but, you spend money to make money I suppose. I like that the Pro Image franchise can train new franchise owners in the products and marketing. That could definitely help the business be more success full in the long run. Pro Image sounds like it may be a good franchise to run and take part in. The video was a great touch,my only concern would be all the startup funds. Overall your blog was great and gave an awesome idea of how to run a Pro Image store.
