Hi my name is Joe Jackson. I am from Marlboro Ma. I am a Hospitality Management major with a minor in Marketing. Once i graduate from Nichols College i plan on managing a large company for a couple of years. From that point i hope to own my own small business. There were two young entreprenuers that i had an admiration for. Misa Chien and Jennifer Green founded The Nom Nom truck. Their creation was a Vietnamese cuisine truck. Green, who is from Vietnamese decent, noticed there were not a lot of cultured based food shops in the Los Angeles area. The twenty-seven and twenty-five year old girls started this business with money from family investments and personal savings. The reason i most admire these girls is for two reasons. One is, what they are doing has a lot to do with not only my major, but every student who attends a business school. They took something they loved and turned it into a business of their own by starting with nothing but $25,000. The second is they took their own cultural roots and brought them out in ther business. By doing that it shows other people the difference in cultures and educates them about how other people live and what tyeof foods they eat.
Hey Joe I completely agree with how they are inspirational to you they are bringing their own culture out into the world with a great concept of food trucks. They had a dream and went with it thats really cool and brave. I hope someday i would be able to do something like that and start up my own small business. If i was you i would have put a little more input on what you want to do as a hospitality manager and what you would like to do for a small business. If I were you i probably would have done some thing along the lines of what hotel you would like to manage and what kind of business you would like to run like a restaurant or store something along those lines
ReplyDeleteGood entry Joe, the ironic fit to being a hospitality manager and having this article to use is kind of funny. Also I have some of the same aspirations with opening a business of my own some day way down the line, so that I thought was pretty interesting also only having $25,000 dollars to kickstart an operation like this. So all in all, I'd say way to go on the little entry as a whole, and good to know you managed to get back onto this to finish it. If I were writing this though I would have slightly expanded on your actual dream job though, usually hearing what people want to do is just as good as hearing what others have done.
