Hi my name is Nick Paro my current major is sports management and When I graduate and if I decide to become and entrepreneur and start up my own business I would like to start up my own athletic store with my own brand of lacrosse specific apparel. we would sell our own brand of shoes, clothing and equipment while also selling "big brands" like Brine, STX, and Warrior. the reason why i believe that this business venture could be successful is because the extremely rapid growth of lacrosse as a sport and as an industry. In fact lacrosse has become so popular and has grown so fast that brands that are known all over the world like under armor and Nike have started to make their own lacrosse equipment and apparel (as seen above). I would like to have a lare store or chain of stores so that i can make maximum profit while also having low prices by buying in large quantities and having the ability to sell the products quickly. The entrepreneurs that most inspired and impressed/ inspired me are Kevin Strom and Mike Krieger (the creators of Instagram) the reason they inspire me is because they came up with a fairly new idea for social media which is not to communicate as much through words but through old school looking photos. The idea was to basically make a social media web site that was exclusively for pictures to be uploaded and to make them look like they were taken from a camera from the 80's or 90's and it worked. They are mostly inspiring to me because they started as a small company with 4 employees to a huge multi million dollar company. That is how my company would probably start out extremely small and then it would grow to be a huge company with many stores around the country and maybe even around the world. either way i have a lot of work to do until i can start my company but its never too early to start to plan either way the next 4 years will prepare me for what ever future lies ahead of me.

Hi Nick. I was just reading your blog and would like to wish you good luck on your ventures into becoming an athletics store business owner. As long as you never give up, you will achieve that dream. Kevin and Mike both came up with a really good idea with Instagram. Nowadays it's hard to come by a really nice picture that actually says something instead of only what the caption says. They probably had many ups and downs when coming up with the idea and experimenting with different ways to approach the goal. Their success just goes to show you that if you really put your mind to it, you can achieve anything. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Nick, I really enjoyed reading your blog. I also really like your idea of you creating your own brand. Although I don't know much about lacrosse I do know that it is one of the fastest growing sports. That is why I believe your idea could some day be very successful. Just make to fight for what you want and never give up. As far as Kevin and Mike and was also inspired by them. I use instagram on a daily basis so I can really appreciate what Kevin and Mike created. Instagram is a very unique application. Not only because you can post pictures with a high quality but when you post a picture you can also have the picture post on other social networks such as twitter and FaceBook. I believe this is what separates Instagram from all other picture posting applications. Good luck with creating your own athletic store, its a great idea!
