My name is Emily Fitzgerald, and I am from Salem, New Hampshire. There are a lot of things that interest me regarding majors. As of right now I am majoring in Psychology with a minor in Hospitality Management. I chose Psychology because I am interested to learn how people "tick". The Hospitality Management comes in because I enjoy managing things. I think it would be cool to be a hotel manager, or a cruise ship director. My dream job would actually be a cruise ship director. Being able to meet so many new people, managing everyone/everything that is happening on the ship, planning fun activities for the families just sounds so fun to me.

Reading through the 30 UNDER 30 website, I came across Ben Silbermann and Evan Sharp. They caught my attention because I am one of those people affected by what they founded. Pinterest is a multi-million dollar app. It is an app where post and share pictures and everyone can see them. I admire the idea of the whole thing. You can look up pictures by categories. I have received many good ideas just from looking at pictures of what other people have done.  At first Pinterest was meant to be a small online community. Sharp received the idea from college where he was studying architecture. Through other architects, they showed him a pin board where they would pin their ideas about different structures and what they would like to sometime build. At first Pinterest was meant to be a small online community, with only 10,000 users. People started talking more and more about it and so many more people because interested.

Pinterest is now by invitation only. I sent a request to join 5 months ago, and it took 3 weeks for me to be able to join the app. I think it is a good idea that they have such strict policy on who is able to view the app. There are so many beautiful pictures and I would hate to see it ruined by over popularity. It was frustrating waiting to be able to go on but it was defiantly worth the wait! I highly suggest it is checked out by everyone.
