Marc Murphy

My name is Marc Murphy and I was born on June 17, 1994.  I’m from Suffield, CT, which is just about an hour drive to the west of Dudley and 30 minutes north of Hartford, CT.  I will be playing lacrosse at Nichols in the spring.  I am currently undecided with my major but I have plenty of options to choose from.  I may go along the lines with business, possibly accounting.  My uncle and cousin are both accountants, so they recommended me to do the same.  My future dream job would be working for a successful business company though it would be nice to start up my own company.

After reading through some articles on the 30 under 30 website, I came across Mathew Corrin.  My brothers and I have always talked about opening up our own restaurant with fresh produce.  So when I finished reading his article it got me thinking.  I liked the fact that he wanted to take fresh food and create a great produce brand around that.  Also to have 700 stores in country and over seas so everyone can enjoy great food.  There is nothing better than have fresh ingredients in your food and people will always be coming back for more.

This is a picture of his restaurant

  2. Sweet picture, and one hell of a blog. You're a natural. By the way, the restaurant idea is a good one, roll with it. Good luck with lacrosse.

  3. Hey Marc, I'm Dan Jezierski and I'm also from Connecticut. I love your idea for the restaurant using fresh produce. There is a huge push in this country to eat healthier and to buy local fresh produce to help save the environment. In a few years, the demand for natural, fresh organic foods is going to be huge and is going to be a market where young entrepreneurs like Matthew and maybe you someday will be successful beyond your wildest dreams and Matthew is a perfect example. Having 700 stores in this country and overseas is a true testament on how economically successful this market is and it's only going to get bigger and better. I personally have a garden in my backyard and love the taste of fresh fruits and vegetables and would love to have a store like Matthew's by me for those long winter months when I can't grow things. You and your brother's should follow your dream of opening a restaurant because you guys will be extremely successful and maybe one day kids at Nichols will be reading about you. Good Luck!
