Simon K's Blog
Hey everyone, my name is Simon Khoury.
I'm a business major from Taunton MA, I play drums, I'm a huge FC Barcelona fan, and ever since I was little, I've dreamed of owning my own business. The specifications of my dream business have changed throughout the years, but the general idea hasn't. I want it to have something to do with music. Currently, I am throwing the idea of a small concert venue/record store with my friend Dan. My dad has hopped from business to business, owning about a dozen or so pizza shops since he came here in the 80's from Lebanon(In case you don't know where it is). I have a similar dream of being able to work for myself.
After redaing the article on America's best young entrepeneurs, I was pretty surprised that a company selling portable shoes could gross over a million dollars. It seems like a pretty riciulous concept. i suppose with the right marketing and clientel, you can sell pretty much anything, and the fact that two girls that are roughly my age are the only two full-tiime employees in a million dollar company is impressive. In the 30 under 30 article, I learned about a Boston-based app design company, headed by someone only three years older than I. This company has developed two apps, one being a scavenger platform that seeks out places near you to check in with you apple device to recieve discounts, merchandise, etc.. It's a very practical app, and easy to market. The company has made $100 million so far.

Yeah that is surprising that selling portable shoes could become a million dollar company. Its even more impressive that two girls were able to come up with this idea and that they're the only two full time employees. Good job to them. Anyways stay with your dream job and someday it will happen. Good luck with your ideas.
