Blog #1 Gabrielle Carlson

Hello, my name is Gabrielle.  I'm a 17 year old from a small town called Warren, MA. I was born on November 20th, 1994 and I enjoy dancing, singing, acting, and mathematics.  I have 2 cats and 2 Boston Terriers.  I live on campus in Shamie.  I graduated from Quaboag Regional Middle High School seventh in my class.  I'm an accounting major and would gladly help anyone in need with mathematics.  I chose accounting because I love mathematics and my accounting class in high school really had me interested.  I plan on receiving my Master's in accounting in 5 years using the  4+1 program offered at Nichols.  With that Master's degree, I wish to become an FBI special agent.  That would be both of my dreams (being an accountant and working against crime) wrapped in one.

What I would like to do with the FBI is be a forensic accountant.  I believe it will be an exciting career that I would greatly enjoy.

On Inc's Top Young Entrepreneurs, 30 Under 30, I read an inspiring little article about three innovators trying to follow their dreams of helping the environment and decreasing energy consumption in office buildings.  Sean Neman, Kevin Refoua, and David Duel are three young men trying to save the environment one office building at a time.  I find the fact that they are both trying to help office buildings go green to help the environment while, at the same time, are trying to help the office buildings save money as well and show them that going green doesn't always mean spending more money.  They are a real inspiration because most teenagers or young adults wouldn't think of being that Eco-friendly while, at the same time, making money and saving money for others.  It's impressive that, in just three years, Sean, Kevin, and David's business grew from an idea on how to help businesses save money and energy to help the environment to a large-profit business making millions.  It's very difficult for anyone young to be successful when creating businesses especially young adults fresh out of college due to the fact that people don't take teenagers and young adults seriously.  It's really inspirational and refreshing to read or hear about anyone young doing well in this day and age especially in this horrible economy.
