  1. Hi Kim, This business is very interesting to me. Its not everyday you see many shoe repair people or companies. I find it cool that the business has been around for that long and still doing really well. He must do a good job convincing people to fix an old shoe insted of getting a new one. Another thing that is really cool is that he learned the trade from his father. Family oriented business' always seem to do very good. In his regaurds to the class i completly agree that things can be a struggle but you have to keep giving it your all. I learned that if you can help out a customer and convince them that your company is the best, you will be successful

  2. Hey Kim,
It’s amazing that your step father has been in business for 32 years. Shoe repair is not something that you hear on an everyday basis so it is really cool that shop repairing is something that your step father loves doing. One of the challenges was very interesting was getting clients to believe its worth it to fix shoes is most challenging aspect because sometimes they think to buy an a new shoe is easier but I think it’s easier sometimes to just buy a new pair of shoe because people do not know what a shoe repairer could really do. I love to know that your step father plans to stay in business until retirement because it shows that he loves what he does. It’s very interesting that snow hurts the business because I never knew that snow could hurt a shoe business. His advice to the class is something very true because some people do not take starting a business serious and they think it will be easy but I know for sure that it needs a lot of effort and time to start a business. There will always be a struggle in any business no matter what time it is. I hope the best for your step father and his business!
